We seek a Technical Lead with deep expertise in Data Mesh and Data as Product principles. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for designing the development of our next-generation data platform, ensuring that data is treated as a product and distributed through a decentralized Data Mesh architecture. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to establish best practices, build data products, and enable data democratization across the organization.
You will play a critical role in defining the roadmap for our data infrastructure, ensuring data availability, scalability, and security while enabling data engineering, science, analytics, and business teams to leverage data effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a deep understanding of modern data technologies and best practices.
What You Will Do as a Technical Lead:
- Lead the Data Platform Strategy: Develop and execute the vision and strategy for our data platform, aligning with the bank’s goals and business objectives
- Design and Implement Data Mesh Framework: Lead the adoption and implementation of Data Mesh principles, ensuring that data is treated as a product and managed across decentralized domains
- Data as a Product: Work with data product owners to define, build, and maintain data products that are reliable, accessible, and usable across various business units
- Architecture & Design: Oversee the architecture of data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and security
- Data Integration: Ensure seamless integration of various data sources (internal and external) into the data platform, using events streaming and modern ETL/ELT frameworks
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Leverage cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to manage and scale the data platform
- Data Governance & Security: Implement data governance policies, ensuring data quality, privacy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, DORA)
What We Expect:
- Proficiency in Java or Python
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in data engineering
- Proven experience in data platform architecture and implementation in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker)
- Strong expertise in building Event-driven processes, ETL/ELT processes, and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and related architectural methodologies
- Experience in microservices architecture and API development, and event-driven systems
- Solid understanding of data governance, security best practices, and compliance standards
- Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on the Pan-Baltic level
