We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team and take a leading role in designing, building, and evolving enterprise‑scale data solutions. This is a hands‑on engineering position that blends deep technical expertise with architectural thinking and technical leadership. You will work with modern data engineering practices, contribute to our Data Lakehouse platforms, and help shape the future of our cloud‑native data ecosystem.

Experience with Oracle or Sybase data warehouses is a plus, but not required.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Design, build, and own end-to-end data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and scalable data products

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of Data Lakehouse architectures using AWS services and open table formats

• Develop and operate large-scale data processing solutions using Apache Spark on AWS EMR

• Design, develop, and orchestrate complex workflows using Apache Airflow

• Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources while ensuring high levels of data quality, reliability, and performance

• Implement and maintain cloud-native data lakes using AWS Glue, Apache Iceberg, Parquet, and object storage technologies

• Enable analytical and self-service access to data through Amazon Athena and support downstream reporting and analytics in Power BI

• Define, improve, and govern data models, data contracts, engineering standards, and platform best practices

• Review technical designs and code, mentor other engineers, and act as a trusted technical reference within the team

• Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to drive data platform initiatives

• Identify scalability, performance, operational, and data quality challenges and proactively implement improvements

• Contribute to platform reliability through monitoring, operational support, CI/CD practices, and automation

• Support modernization and migration initiatives from legacy Oracle and Sybase data warehouses to modern cloud-native platforms when required

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Strong experience in data engineering within enterprise-scale environments

• Advanced SQL skills and a solid understanding of analytical, dimensional, and data warehouse modeling concepts

• Hands-on experience designing and operating modern Data Lakehouse or cloud-native data platforms

• Proven experience with AWS data technologies, including EMR, Glue, Athena, S3-based data lakes, and related services

• Strong experience building distributed data processing solutions using Apache Spark

• Solid Python development skills for ETL/ELT development, automation, and data processing

• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable, scalable, and high-performing data pipelines

• Practical experience working with Apache Iceberg, Parquet, and modern data storage formats

• Understanding of CI/CD practices, platform observability, monitoring, and operational support

• Experience working with Oracle or Sybase-based data warehouse technologies is advantageous

• Exposure to data platform modernization, migration, or transformation initiatives is considered a strong plus

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to evaluate systems from an end-to-end perspective

• Ability to independently drive technical solutions and make well-reasoned engineering decisions

• Confidence leading technical discussions with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders

• A continuous learning mindset and genuine interest in emerging cloud, data, and lakehouse technologies

• Fluent English, both spoken and written, is required due to collaboration across the Pan-Baltic organization
